Who can do facial acupuncture?

 

This is a unisex treatment, good for everyone start young to avoid more invasive treatments. As well as being effective for older skin it can help prevent and minimize the signs of ageing.

What are the side-effects?

 

Minor and temporary facial and neck bruising are the most common side effect of cosmetic acupuncture, with most bruising disappearing within 2 weeks. Recovery time is fast and there is minimal risk of infections, swelling or scarring.

Who may not be suitable for Cosmetic Acupuncture?

  • Haemophiliacs or patients taking blood thinners

  • Patients with pacemakers

  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure

  • Diabetics

  • Sufferers of severe migraines within the last 3 months

  • Patients with severe medical conditions (currently being treated for cancer or HIV)

  • Women during the first three months of pregnancy or those trying to conceive

For the best results a regular course of 8 to 12 treatments is recommended ideally weekly.

After this, maintenance is achieved by monthly treatments.
